Time Breakdown: 120 Minutes
120 questions, 120 minutes = 1 minute per question. But not all questions are equal.
The Two-Pass Method
First pass (60 min): Scan all questions, answer easy ones first. Mark difficult ones with a dot. Target: 80-90 questions done.
Second pass (50 min): Return to marked questions. Use elimination and educated guessing. Target: remaining 30-40 questions.
Buffer (10 min): Review flagged questions and complete OMR.
Section-wise Strategy
Paper I (General Medicine + Surgery): Typically longer clinical vignettes. Paper II (OBG, PSM, ENT, etc.): Mix of direct and image-based. Adjust reading speed accordingly.
OMR Bubbling Tactics
- Bubble every 10-15 questions (not at the end)
- Double-check question number before bubbling
- Never change a bubbled answer unless 100% sure
- Use the question paper margin for rough calculations
